Qualified contractors must demonstrate experience through a list of similar projects comparable in cost and type, with experience in school construction projects of comparable scope required for contract award. The sealed proposal submission deadline is Monday, May 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. local time at the Garden City Schools Business Office, 1333 Radcliff, Garden City, Michigan 48135, with bids to be opened publicly and read aloud immediately following the deadline. Site demolition begins June 17, 2019 (after the school year concludes on June 14, 2019), and all project work must be completed by August 11, 2019. All bids must remain open and irrevocable for sixty (60) days from the due date, and successful bidders will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds. All bidders must comply with Michigan's familial relationship disclosure requirements (MCL 380.1267) and the Iran Economic Sanctions Act (Public Act 517 of 2012), submitting sworn and notarized certification statements with their bids. The project specifications require contractors to maintain the building in weather-tight condition, protect building occupants, maintain six administrative parking spaces, provide not less than five calendar days' notice before activities affecting owner operations, and assume responsibility for repairing any damage caused by construction operations. The Owner reserves the right to award the contract to other than the low bidder, accept or reject any or all bids, and waive any informalities in the bidding process. No specific contract award value or budget range is disclosed in the bid documents provided.
