About this opportunity

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is seeking to procure and install an Electronic Descaler system to address severe calcium scaling issues at the Florida Bass Conservation Center and Richloam State Fish Hatchery. The agencies are experiencing significant scaling problems due to their high water usage, averaging 2 million gallons per month. The intended single source procurement is for the ScaleBlaster system, manufactured by Clear Water Enviro Technologies Inc., which is the only product designed to handle the required water volume and address the scaling damage. The estimated cost of this contract is $74,475, and the selected contractor will be required to warrant its capability and integrity to fully perform the contract requirements in accordance with Chapter 287 of the Florida Statutes. Prospective vendors must provide information in writing regarding their ability to supply the required commodities or services by October 12, 2022 at 9:00 AM ET.

This procurement is not a solicitation for bids or proposals, and the agency is not accepting submissions at this time. The justification for the single source acquisition is that the standard water softening systems are not viable to address the severe calcium scaling issues at these facilities. The ScaleBlaster system is the only product designed for applications of this scale. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, and the agency has not identified any incumbent vendors or current contractors for this work. The available budget for this project is $74,475.
