About this opportunity

The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes on fresh produce to supply correctional facility kitchens across seven locations under Documented Quote 2026000530, with quotes due July 1, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. MST via bidnetdirect.com/cdoc. Written inquiries must be submitted by June 29, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. MST.

The scope includes delivery of thirty produce line items — including apples, bananas, oranges, carrots, salad mix, and russet potatoes — to Buena Vista Correctional Complex, Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility, Central Warehouse, Sterling Correctional Facility, Denver Women's Correctional Facility, Denver Reception & Diagnostic Center, and Limon Correctional Facility across three delivery days in July 2026 (July 6–8). All commodities must be date coded and meet current USDA standards for specified grades; salad mix and shredded lettuce must retain a minimum of ten days of shelf life at delivery. Pricing must be F.O.B. Destination all-inclusive, incorporating all shipping costs and surcharges, and remain firm throughout the purchase order term. Failure to deliver on three separate occasions within the agreed timeframe may result in vendor disqualification from future solicitations for three years or indefinitely.

The CDOC will award to the responsible bidder whose acceptable quote is most advantageous, with price as the primary consideration though sample quality and lead time may also be evaluated. Estimated notice of intent to award and purchase order execution are both scheduled for July 1, 2026. All awarded bidders must complete CDOC Enhanced Criminal Background Investigation within 30 days of notification, register with the Colorado Secretary of State prior to purchase order execution, carry workers' compensation and commercial general liability insurance (minimum $1 million per occurrence), and obtain proof of good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State. Bidders must submit Exhibits A through F, including statement of work response, required vendor information, W-9 form, price proposal, contract performance certification, and non-conflict of interest declaration.
