About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh eggs to supply five correctional facility kitchens, with quotes due September 29, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. MST and delivery to occur during the week of October 5–9, 2026. This is a Documented Quote (DQ 2027000114) with no guaranteed order quantities or dollar amounts; award will be made on price as the primary factor alongside sample quality and lead time.
The scope covers U.S. Grade A brown or white eggs in medium or large loose pack, available in 15-dozen or 30-dozen cases per unit, USDA inspected and stamped and dated no more than 17 days prior to delivery. Delivery locations are Buena Vista Correctional Complex, Central Warehouse (Canon City), Denver Women's Correctional Facility, Limon Correctional Facility, and Sterling Correctional Facility. The order form specifies 420 cases of 30-dozen packs (or 840 cases of 15-dozen packs if that size is quoted) distributed across facilities. All eggs must be delivered at temperatures not exceeding 45 degrees Fahrenheit and labeled with identity and origin information. Pricing must be itemized on a per-case basis and all-inclusive with no additional shipping charges; all items are F.O.B. Destination. Pricing remains firm during the Purchase Order term. Brand substitutions are not permitted; rejected products are returned at vendor expense.
Pre-award requirements include proof of good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State, insurance certificate, CORE registration, and completion of a Colorado Enhanced Criminal Background Investigation within 30 days. All contractor personnel delivering to CDOC facilities must undergo criminal history checks, background screening, fingerprinting, and drug testing. Bidders must submit Exhibits A through G, including the Statement of Work, Required Bidder Information, W-9, Price Quote, Contract Performance disclosure, Non-Conflict of Interest statement, and Consent to Search authorization. Written inquiries are due September 28, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. MST, with responses published September 29. Submission is required exclusively through bidnetdirect.com/cdoc. Any vendor experiencing three separate non-deliveries may be deemed non-responsible and disqualified for three years or indefinitely. The CDOC reserves the right to award to multiple bidders.
