About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) is requesting quotes for fresh eggs to supply correctional facility kitchens at Buena Vista Correctional Complex and Sterling Correctional Facility, with quotes due September 10, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. MST via bidnetdirect.com/cdoc.
Eggs must be USDA Grade A, brown or white, medium or large, loose pack in cases of 15 or 30 dozen, USDA inspected, and stamped and dated no more than 17 days prior to delivery. The total quantity is 90 cases of 30-dozen eggs (or 180 cases of 15-dozen, depending on pack size selection): 30 cases to Buena Vista Correctional Complex and 60 cases to Sterling Correctional Facility. Delivery is required during the week of September 14–18, 2026, at temperatures not exceeding 45 degrees Fahrenheit. All pricing is all-inclusive with no additional shipping, surcharges, or taxes; vendors must account for delivery fees in their bid submissions. Pricing must remain firm during the purchase order term, with annual increases capped at 2.5% per fiscal year subject to mutual agreement. No minimum order quantities or dollar amounts are guaranteed. The CDOC reserves the right to request future quantity increases or decreases or delivery to other facilities. Rejected products return at the vendor's sole expense.
Written inquiries are due September 4, 2026 by 5:00 p.m. MST, with responses posted by September 8, 2026. Award and purchase order execution are estimated for September 10, 2026, with the purchase order effective that date. Award is based on the responsible bidder's acceptable quote determined most advantageous to CDOC, with price as the primary consideration and other factors including sample quality and lead time.
Bidders must register with BidNet Direct and the State's Vendor Self-Service (VSS) system, obtain Good Standing status with the Colorado Secretary of State, and provide proof of required insurance coverage—including Commercial General Liability with minimum limits of $1 million each occurrence and $1 million general aggregate—prior to purchase order execution. All contractor personnel performing services at CDOC facilities must complete enhanced criminal background investigations, fingerprinting, and drug testing within 30 days of award notification and sign a Consent to Search Authorization form before facility access is permitted. Failure to deliver on three separate occasions within the agreed timeframe may result in vendor disqualification from all future solicitations for three years or indefinitely.
