About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh eggs to supply correctional facility kitchens at four locations (Buena Vista Correctional Complex, Central Warehouse in Canon City, Denver Women's Correctional Facility, and Sterling Correctional Facility), with quotes due August 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time and notice of intent to award anticipated for August 20, 2026. Written inquiries are due August 17, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. MST.
The scope calls for fresh eggs meeting USDA Grade A standards in brown or white varieties, available in 15 or 30 dozen case quantities, stamped and dated no more than 17 days prior to delivery and held at temperatures not exceeding 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Delivery is required during the week of August 24–28, 2026, to the four specified facilities on an F.O.B. Destination basis. Pricing must be all-inclusive of shipping, surcharges, and taxes and must remain firm throughout the purchase order term. Samples may be required at the vendor's sole expense and are non-returnable. Product brands and nutritional specifications require approval prior to award.
No actual order quantities or dollar amounts are guaranteed through this solicitation; the resulting purchase order will cover ordered quantities delivered on a weekly basis. Award will be made to the responsible bidder whose acceptable quote is determined most advantageous to CDOC, with price/cost as the primary consideration and other factors including sample quality and lead time. Annual price increases not to exceed 2.5% per fiscal year may be negotiated if included in the purchase order, subject to mutual agreement.
All contractor personnel delivering goods must complete criminal background investigation and drug testing, sign a Consent to Search Authorization form, and comply with facility security provisions prohibiting cell phones, cameras, weapons, tobacco, and vapes. Bidders must be registered with CORE via the Vendor Self Service website and provide proof of good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State prior to purchase order execution. Three failures to deliver on separate occasions may result in vendor disqualification from future CDOC solicitations for three years or indefinitely. Quotes must be submitted via bidnetdirect.com/cdoc; contact Amanda Murray, Purchasing Agent III, at doc_purchasing@state.co.us.
