About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh eggs to supply three correctional facilities under Documented Quote DQ 2027000006, with quotes due July 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. MST. Written inquiries must be submitted by July 13, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. MST, with CDOC responses published by July 14, 2026.
The scope calls for U.S. Grade A eggs (brown or white), medium or large, loose pack in cases of 15 or 30 dozen, USDA inspected and stamped and dated no more than 17 days prior to delivery. All eggs must arrive at a temperature not exceeding 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Delivery is required during the week of July 20–24, 2026 to Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility in Crowley, Central Warehouse in Canon City, and Sterling Correctional Facility in Sterling. The initial order is 240 cases of 30-dozen eggs (or 480 cases of 15-dozen eggs if that pack size is selected). The awarded brand will be mandatory for all subsequent deliveries with no substitutions permitted. Pricing must be all-inclusive of shipping and handling, remain firm during the contract term, and invoicing must be submitted monthly by the 15th of each month.
Award will be made to the responsible bidder whose acceptable quote is most advantageous to CDOC, with price as the primary consideration and sample quality and lead time as secondary factors. CDOC reserves the right to award multiple bidders and may negotiate with bidders to clarify quotes. A notice of intent to award and purchase order execution are both estimated for July 16, 2026, with the purchase order start date also July 16, 2026.
Awarded contractors must complete a CDOC Enhanced Criminal Background Investigation within 30 days and comply with all facility security provisions before purchase order execution. Bidders must be registered with the Colorado Secretary of State prior to contract execution and must submit all exhibits (A through F) including a Non-Conflict of Interest affidavit and W-9 form. Commercial General Liability Insurance of $1 million per occurrence is required, with the State named as an additional insured. Vendor non-performance standards specify that failure to deliver on three separate occasions within the agreed timeframe may result in disqualification from future solicitations for three years or indefinitely.
