About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for fresh eggs to be delivered to three correctional facilities—Canon City Central Warehouse, Limon Correctional Facility, and Sterling Correctional Facility—with quotes due July 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time under Documented Quote DQ 2027000002. Written inquiries are due July 6, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Price is the primary evaluation criterion, though sample quality and delivery lead time may also be considered.
The scope is U.S. Grade A eggs (brown or white), medium or large, loose pack, USDA inspected and stamped and dated no more than 17 days prior to delivery. Bidders may quote either 15-dozen or 30-dozen case sizes; the total volume is 180 cases of 30-dozen eggs or 360 cases of 15-dozen eggs (equivalent). Eggs must be delivered separately to each of the three facilities during the week of July 13–17, 2026, no later than July 17, at temperatures not exceeding 45 degrees Fahrenheit. All pricing is F.O.B. Destination Freight Prepaid and all-inclusive; bidders must absorb shipping costs and may not add surcharges or taxes. Pricing must remain firm for the one-year Purchase Order term. The selected brand is firm with no substitutions permitted. Failure to deliver on three separate occasions within the agreed timeframe may result in disqualification from future CDOC solicitations for three years or indefinitely.
Prior to Purchase Order execution, the awarded bidder must provide Colorado Secretary of State Good Standing proof, an insurance certificate (Commercial General Liability minimum $1,000,000 per occurrence / $1,000,000 aggregate, with the State named as additional insured), and must complete a CDOC Enhanced Criminal Background Investigation within 30 days. All contractor personnel delivering to CDOC facilities must comply with facility security provisions, including background checks, fingerprinting, and drug testing. Bidders must be registered with Bidnet Direct to submit responses electronically and must submit completed Exhibits A through F, including a Non-Conflict of Interest certification and disclosure of any services performed outside Colorado or the U.S. A public quote opening will be held virtually on July 9, 2026, with Notice of Intent to Award and Purchase Order execution estimated for July 9, 2026.
