About this opportunity

The Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) is issuing a Documented Quote (DQ 2026000474) for the procurement of fresh eggs to supply correctional facility kitchens located at Buena Vista Correctional Complex, Central Warehouse in Canon City, and Denver Women's Correctional Facility. The solicitation requires delivery of 120 thirty-dozen cases (or 240 fifteen-dozen cases) of U.S. Grade A eggs, either brown or white, in loose pack configurations during the week of May 18-22, 2026. All eggs must be fresh, USDA inspected, stamped and dated no more than 17 days prior to delivery, and maintained at temperatures not exceeding 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Bidders must submit complete responses through bidnetdirect.com/cdoc by May 14, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. MST, including Exhibits A through F (Statement of Work, Required Bidder Information, W-9 form, Price Quote, Contract Performance certification, and Non-Conflict of Interest statement). Written inquiries must be submitted by May 11, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. MST, with CDOC responses estimated for May 12, 2026. The awarded vendor will be notified on May 14, 2026, with the Purchase Order effective immediately thereafter. Award will be made to the responsible bidder whose acceptable quote is determined most advantageous to the CDOC, with price serving as the primary evaluation factor, supplemented by considerations of sample quality and lead time. Pricing must be all-inclusive with F.O.B. Destination terms, incorporating all shipping costs, and must remain firm for the duration of the Purchase Order.

This solicitation contains no identified set-asides for disadvantaged enterprises or restricted organizational categories; however, all prospective vendors must be registered with the Colorado Secretary of State and CORE through the Vendor Self Service system prior to contract execution. Bidders must maintain required insurance coverage including Commercial General Liability with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence, Workers Compensation if applicable, and other coverage based on the nature of their operations, all provided by companies with an A.M. Best rating of "A" or better. The awarded vendor must ensure that all contractor personnel responsible for delivering goods complete an Enhanced Criminal Background Investigation within 30 days of award notification and may be subject to additional criminal history checks, fingerprinting, and drug testing. No incumbent vendor or current contractor information is listed in the solicitation documents. The procurement does not specify a total award value or budget range; pricing will be determined based on the competitive bids received for the 120 cases of eggs. Non-delivery on three separate occasions within the agreed timeframe may result in vendor disqualification from all future CDOC solicitations for three years or indefinitely.
