About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Education is issuing an RFI for a statewide Parent Transparency Portal, with responses due October 12, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. EST. This is a pre-procurement information-gathering vehicle; no contract will be awarded as a result of RFI submission, but responses will inform future procurement activities.
The portal must provide accessible views of student enrollment counts, key reporting metrics, and education data across publicly funded education options in Florida from Early Learning through the Florida College System, including traditional public schools, charter schools, private schools participating in state scholarship programs, and postsecondary institutions. The Department seeks comprehensive vendor input on solution options, implementation approaches, interoperability with existing Department systems, and cost models.
Respondents must address eight sections: corporate history and relevant experience with comparable education portals; proposed solution aligned with program goals, including mobile-responsive design and accessibility features; scholarship school participation and data submission strategies; data integration and interoperability with existing Department infrastructure; privacy, security, and FERPA-compliant data governance frameworks; implementation, training, and documentation plans with timeline estimates; total cost of ownership covering development, licensing, hosting, maintenance, and support; and policy and statutory considerations. The Department is specifically evaluating whether to leverage existing parent portal solutions or build a new platform to streamline timelines, reduce costs, and support long-term sustainability.
Vendor questions are due September 11, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. EST, with answers posted by September 22, 2026. All RFI responses should be emailed to Winston McGriff at Winston.McGriff1@fldoe.org. Respondents are encouraged to monitor the Florida Vendor Information Portal for updates or clarifications.
