About this opportunity

The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD), a special taxing district serving Orange County, Florida, is soliciting bids for the Fire Station #4 Generator Replacement project (Bid #C006526). The procurement involves comprehensive generator replacement services, with the primary objective of ensuring reliable emergency power supply for the fire station. Specific scope of work includes replacing the existing emergency generator with a new owner-furnished generator and annunciation panel, relocating the generator, constructing concrete housekeeping pads, performing electrical connections, installing a manual transfer switch, and conducting full testing and commissioning. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for September 16, 2025, at 9:30 AM, located at Fire Station #4 in Lake Buena Vista. The bid submission deadline is October 2, 2025, with all interested contractors required to register on the PlanetBids electronic bidding platform. Bidders must provide all necessary labor, supervision, materials, equipment, and permitting in accordance with associated construction drawings, while adhering to all relevant safety, building, and electrical codes.

The solicitation demonstrates preferences for local vendors, veteran small businesses, and opportunity zone businesses, suggesting potential set-aside considerations for these categories. Bidders will need to demonstrate technical capabilities in emergency power infrastructure, electrical systems installation, and generator replacement methodologies. While specific budget details are not explicitly stated, the project involves substantial infrastructure upgrades with complex technical requirements. The procurement process emphasizes transparency and fair competition through the electronic bidding platform, which allows document viewing and bid submission. Contractors will be responsible for providing a temporary emergency generator during the transition to validate connections and maintain power continuity. The project requires comprehensive coordination to minimize operational downtime for the fire station and ensure seamless integration of the new power generation infrastructure.
