About this opportunity

The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center is soliciting bids for exterior building waterproofing, hardscape, and emergent conditions work across multiple campus locations in Texas, with a proposal due date of March 4, 2026.

The scope encompasses repair and maintenance of exterior building systems, hardscape structures, building cladding, building envelope systems (excluding roofing), and emergent repairs across the institution's operational footprint. Deliverables include sidewalks, handicap ramps, curbing, paver systems, raised patio structures, building waterproofing systems (including water-stop injections), cladding systems, fences, railings, and bollards. Work locations span Main Campus (Anderson Central, East, and West buildings; Charles A. LaMaistre Clinic; Albert B. and Margaret M. Hospital; research and support facilities), South Campus (five research buildings, Proton Therapy Building, Smith Research Building, Operations and Maintenance Building), Mid Campus with garage and bridge infrastructure, and off-site facilities including Pawnee Warehouse, Naomi Street Facility, Holly Hall, Bellaire Treatment Center, Virginia Harris Cockrell Cancer Research Center in Smithville, and Michael E. Keeling Center for Comparative Medicine and Research in Bastrop. The contract scope includes all new facilities and buildings subsequently accepted by M.D. Anderson or added through amendment.

Contractors must furnish all equipment, materials, parts, supplies, and facilities unless otherwise designated as M.D. Anderson-furnished. Work must be scheduled to minimize disruption to patient care operations, with potential off-shift and weekend requirements. Labor rates and material costs are governed by an accompanying fee schedule (Rider 102) with adjustments for applicable discounts, burden rates, and rebates. Contractors must maintain OSHA-compliant safety programs, obtain M.D. Anderson picture ID badges, complete required construction safety and environmental training, report accidents and near misses with same-day follow-up, and prohibit asbestos, lead, and PCB-containing materials. The project manager is Charles Strange with Jimmy Johnson as designee. A contract partnering session is scheduled once execution is complete.
