About this opportunity
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Procurement and Contracting Services division is requesting bids for equipment upkeep, repair, and replacement services at the Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center, with bids due August 25, 2026, at 10:30 AM. An optional on-site visit is scheduled for August 7, 2026, at 10:30 AM at 902 Airport Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78405.
The scope encompasses ARJO equipment maintenance agreements, replacement parts, and consumable supplies for resident care equipment. Services include warranty coverage for defects, annual inspections, preventive maintenance, and scheduled service visits. Commonly purchased replacement items include shower handles, mattresses, hoses, slings, batteries, battery chargers, and disinfectants, acquired on an as-needed basis. Services must be performed Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time, with a four-hour response requirement for service calls and one-hour response for emergency services.
The estimated annual maintenance agreement cost ranges from $50,000 to $60,000. Pricing must be submitted as firm, fixed prices on Exhibit C and includes all labor, equipment, materials, supplies, and related expenses with no additional reimbursement for per diem, travel, or equipment costs. Price adjustments are permitted only at HHSC's discretion, correlated with the Consumer Price Index or federal minimum wage increases using a specified formula.
The contract term runs September 1, 2026, through August 31, 2027, with no renewals, though HHSC reserves the right to extend for up to one additional year at its sole discretion. Both HHSC and the Department of State Health Services are entitled to use any awarded contract.
Bidders must demonstrate a minimum of three years of relevant experience, provide three verifiable references for similar contracts within the last three years, and assigned personnel must have a minimum of two years of experience. Insurance requirements include workers' compensation, commercial general liability ($1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 aggregate), commercial automobile liability ($1,000,000), professional liability ($1,000,000), and umbrella liability ($1,000,000). Contractor personnel must complete Texas Department of Public Safety background checks prior to commencing work.
Questions are due August 12, 2026, at 5:00 PM, with responses posted by August 17, 2026. Award is contingent upon HHSC Executive Commissioner approval. HHSC reserves the right to make single or multiple awards based on best value considering bidder qualifications, ability to meet performance requirements, and price.
