About this opportunity
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is requesting bids for equipment upkeep, repair, and replacement services at Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center under IFB HHS0017404, with bids due July 28, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. Central Time. Two mandatory on-site visits are scheduled for July 13 and 14, 2026 at 10:30 a.m.; failure to attend one in person results in disqualification.
The scope centers on ARJO equipment maintenance agreements, replacement parts, and consumable supplies for resident care equipment. The maintenance agreement provides warranty coverage for defects, annual inspections, preventive maintenance services, and scheduled service visits, with annual costs typically ranging from $50,000 to $60,000. Frequently purchased items include replacement mattresses, slings, hoses, shower handles, batteries, chargers, and disinfectants. The contractor must respond to all service calls within four hours during regular business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time) and within one hour for emergency requests.
The contract term begins September 1, 2026 and expires August 31, 2027, with no renewal options but a possible one-year extension at HHSC's discretion. Pricing must be submitted using the provided Pricing Sheet (Exhibit C) with firm, fixed prices covering all labor, equipment, materials, supplies, and related expenses. Bidders must demonstrate minimum three years of relevant experience and provide three verifiable references for similar services completed within the last three years. All contractor personnel must be at least 18 years old with minimum two years of relevant experience. The contractor must maintain comprehensive insurance including workers' compensation, commercial general liability ($1,000,000 per occurrence), commercial auto liability ($1,000,000), professional liability ($1,000,000), and umbrella liability ($1,000,000). Questions are due July 17, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., with responses posted by July 21. Award will be made to the bidder offering the best value to the State based on meeting requirements, ability to perform, and pricing, not necessarily the lowest price.
