About this opportunity
The City of Statesboro is seeking design services for the Stockyard Road Sidewalk Project (ENG-122q), located between W Main Street and Williams Road in Statesboro, Georgia. This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) solicits professional engineering services to develop comprehensive design plans for sidewalk construction and intersection improvements. The project requires two-phase design services, including topographic and parcel surveys, concept plans, environmental and utility surveys, right-of-way documentation, hydrology studies, and complete construction plans adhering to Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) standards. Evaluation of proposals will occur on a 100-point scale, with points allocated as follows: 25 points for project experience, 25 points for staff credentials, 40 points for project approach and management, and 10 points for references. Key deadlines include a mandatory pre-bid meeting on July 23, 2025, at the Municipal Courthouse, with proposal submissions due by 3:00 PM on August 6, 2025. The city expects design plans to be completed within six months of the Notice to Proceed, with the ultimate goal of encouraging pedestrian and non-vehicular traffic along Stockyard Road.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly mentioned in the procurement documents. The project will be funded through City TSPLOST funds, with an estimated budget scope focused on design services and subsequent right-of-way acquisition. Interested firms are required to submit two copies of their proposal to the City of Statesboro Procurement Office, with specific labeling requirements for the submission envelope. A separate sealed design cost proposal must also be submitted, which will be opened after the initial consultant selection process. While no incumbent vendors were identified, the project emphasizes a comprehensive approach to design that will facilitate rapid progression from planning to potential construction. The procurement appears open to qualified engineering and design firms with demonstrated experience in municipal infrastructure projects, particularly those involving sidewalk and intersection improvements.
