About this opportunity
This state and local contracting opportunity is an Invitation for Bids (IFB) issued by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for the procurement of power-operated, load-interrupting, solid dielectric insulated switches and three-phase pad mount distribution transformers. The contract will serve the state of North Carolina, specifically the jurisdictions of Orange County and Cleveland Town. The electrical, mechanical, and performance requirements for the switches and transformers are detailed, including specifications for maximum design voltage, basic impulse level, fault interrupting capability, and other technical details. The switches and transformers must comply with applicable NEMA, ANSI, and NEC standards, and the transformers must be Factory Mutual Approved. The bid is due on September 18, 2024, with a contract award and effective date to follow. The University reserves the right to award to multiple vendors or not award certain line items. The contract opportunity does not provide any information on incumbent vendors, current contractors, existing infrastructure, or technology integration requirements. The IFB also does not specify any award values or budget ranges.
