About this opportunity

East Georgia State College is seeking qualified contractors for a Student Services Building interior lighting upgrade project through an electronic Request for Quotes (eRFQ) under the State Purchasing Act. The procurement opportunity, identified as Project #0000-2513, involves a comprehensive LED lighting retrofit for the Student Center, specifically targeting the replacement of existing interior lighting fixtures with new LED technology. Mandatory pre-bid conference was held on December 5th, 2024, at the Plant Operations Building in Swainsboro, Georgia, with sealed bids due on January 14th, 2025, at 2:30 PM in Room #112. The project will involve installing various LED fixtures including 2x4 volumetric selectable troffers, 2x4 LED flat panels, 2x2 volumetric selectable troffers, 4' linear strip lights, recessed downlights, and emergency lighting. Contractors must field verify existing conditions and maintain the current electrical infrastructure while executing the upgrade, with Chatham Engineering Company, LLC overseeing the project specifications.

The procurement appears to be open to all qualified electrical contractors and construction firms, with no specific set-aside designations mentioned in the documentation. Multiple contractors attended the mandatory pre-bid conference, including H.A. Sack, Inergy Solutions, Moore Electric Co., Y-Delta Inc., Integrated Power Connection, PSG Energy Services, Rentz, and Copper Construction. The contract will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder submitting the lowest bid within the budget, with the Owner reserving the right to negotiate or supplement the budget if all bids exceed expectations. While the exact contract value is not explicitly stated, the project includes provisions for 100% payment and performance bonds, and establishes liquidated damages for failure to achieve material completion within the specified 280 consecutive calendar days. The project strongly emphasizes the use of Georgia-based materials, equipment, and labor, suggesting a preference for local economic engagement.
