About this opportunity
Brazoria County is requesting proposals for debris removal from the streambank and shoreline along Oyster Creek and Bastrop Bayou, with proposals due June 2, 2026. The scope encompasses cleanup and removal of storm-generated debris — including trees, logs, brush, tops, blockages, and rubbish — deposited as a result of Hurricane Beryl in and adjacent to the specified waterways.
Brazoria County will identify debris on site, and the contractor is responsible for removal to designated disposal locations as directed by the county. The work includes clearing obstructions and removing all hurricane-related materials from both waterway and adjacent areas. Contractor qualifications, equipment specifications, safety protocols, and environmental compliance measures are defined in the scope of work document.
Compensation is structured as unit costs for debris removal and disposal, with payment based on actual quantities removed and properly disposed of. Brazoria County retains the right to modify scope and quantities based on site conditions and post-storm assessments. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder meeting all specified requirements.
Funding is anticipated through FEMA or other emergency management assistance programs available for hurricane recovery operations.
