About this opportunity
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is requesting proposals for a prairie seed mix for the Purdueville Public Housing Authority in Ford County, with proposals due October 8, 2026.
The scope is supply of a native prairie seed mix across 75 acres containing 27 specified native species — warm-season grasses (Canada wildrye, Little Bluestem, Sideoats grama, Virginia wildrye, Western wheat grass) and native forbs and wildflowers (milkweed, asters, coneflowers, blazingstar, and others) — each with defined seeding rates in pounds per acre of Pure Live Seed. Vendors must calculate total seed requirements and cost based on the specified application rates and submit pricing per pound and per ounce of PLS.
The contract is governed by the State of Illinois Standard Terms and Conditions for General Services. Prevailing wage requirements apply to applicable service categories. Vendors must obtain prior written approval before using subcontractors and ensure all subcontractors meet the same certifications required of the primary vendor. The State retains sole and exclusive ownership of all work product and intellectual property. General commercial liability insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence with $2,000,000 annual aggregate, auto liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence, and workers' compensation insurance as required by law are mandated, with the State named as additional insured. Invoices are due by July 31 following the performance period. Records must be maintained for three years (five years if federal funds are used). The State reserves the right to terminate for convenience with thirty days' notice or immediately for cause. The contract is contingent upon appropriation of sufficient funds by the Illinois General Assembly.
