About this opportunity
The Walton County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified contractors to provide disaster debris removal services for Walton County Emergency Management through a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process. The primary objective of this procurement is to secure a contractor capable of efficiently removing debris resulting from natural disasters and emergency conditions. Potential contractors must submit sealed proposals by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Historic Walton Co. Courthouse located at 111 S. Broad Street in Monroe, Georgia. Proposers are required to demonstrate specific qualifications, including providing proof of General Liability Insurance and Workman's Compensation Insurance, with Walton County named as an additional insured. Contractors must also submit a notarized Contractor Affidavit verifying compliance with the Federal Work Authorization Program (E-Verify). Interested parties can obtain RFP documents by contacting Rhonda Hawk or Gretchen Thurmond via email. The county reserves the right to reject any proposals and will make the final award based on the highest and best interest of Walton County.
While the RFP does not explicitly mention specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises, it does outline key requirements for potential contractors. The procurement appears to be open to qualified contractors with appropriate insurance coverage and legal compliance. No specific incumbent vendors or existing infrastructure details are provided in the documentation. The RFP does not specify a precise budget range or potential award value for the disaster debris removal services. Contractors should be prepared to demonstrate capabilities in emergency response, debris management, and rapid mobilization in the event of natural disasters. The comprehensive evaluation will likely focus on the contractor's ability to meet the county's emergency management needs, insurance requirements, and legal compliance standards.
