About this opportunity

The City of Edgerton, Wisconsin is seeking competitive bids for roof repair services at the Department of Public Works municipal garage located at 315 W High Street. The project involves comprehensive roof restoration work, including power washing, surface preparation, seam coating, fastener replacement, flashing installation, and polyester fabric stripping with base and top coats applied via airless spray or roller application. Contractors are required to submit written bids by 3:00 p.m. on October 31, 2018, either via email to jsalvo@cityofedgerton.com or through a sealed hard copy envelope. Bidders must visit the facility prior to submission to inspect the existing roof condition, with site visits schedulable through Tom Hartzell, Public Works Director, at 608-290-8590. The submission must include three references from comparable projects completed within the past three years, a completed bid form detailing total bid price, estimated completion date, warranty length, and material specifications. Evaluation criteria will focus on cost, schedule, and overall value, with the City reserving the right to select the most advantageous bid and reject any or all proposals.

No specific set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent types were explicitly mentioned in the procurement documents. The project appears open to all qualified roofing contractors who can demonstrate appropriate experience, safety compliance, and technical capabilities. Contractors must maintain an on-site supervisor, provide daily progress reports, and comply with Federal, State, and Local safety regulations. While no specific budget range was provided, the bid must include all labor and materials for the complete project, with payment processed within 30 days of invoice receipt and approval by the Public Works Director. The City retains flexibility to increase, decrease, or omit scheduled work items without compensating for anticipated profits or incurred costs for work not ultimately performed. Warranty coverage for workmanship and materials free from defects is required, emphasizing the importance of quality and long-term performance in the roof repair project.
