About this opportunity

Douglas County School District (Georgia) is requesting bids on twenty-one new 2026 model-year 83/84-passenger diesel school buses under ITB 27-007, with bids due October 15, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EST through the Euna/Bonfire portal. Questions are due September 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EST, with responses posted by September 28.

Bidders must demonstrate a minimum of five years' experience with similar projects, preferably with public school systems, and must be registered to do business in Georgia. All buses must be complete regular education vehicles compliant with Georgia School Bus Specifications and equipped with diesel engines. Required add-ons include a REI HD5-600 camera surveillance system, two-way radio communication, interactive motorist alert signs, and air conditioning systems. Comprehensive warranties covering the engine (5 years/150,000 miles with road technician support), transmission, air conditioning, electrical systems, and body (5 years/150,000 miles bumper-to-bumper) are mandatory. Extensive driver training must be provided.

Bids must be F.O.B. Douglasville, Georgia and include all equipment, materials, installation, cleanup, training, and delivery costs. Bid prices remain firm during the contract period. Delivery occurs on a mutually agreed date; a $500 daily late charge per unit applies for missed delivery dates. The contract runs from award through June 30, 2027, with automatic renewal options for up to four additional one-year terms at DCSD's discretion, contingent on satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Required insurance includes Commercial General Liability ($1,000,000 per person/$1,000,000 per occurrence), Business Automobile Liability ($1,000,000 combined single limit), and Workers' Compensation Insurance ($500,000 limits). Evaluation occurs October 15–22, 2026, with Board approval anticipated November 9, 2026. The district reserves the right to reject any or all bids and award to the most responsive and responsible bidder within budget parameters.
