About this opportunity

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) has issued an electronic Request for Quotes (eRFQ) for Jail Restoration Center Food Services, soliciting qualified suppliers to provide comprehensive food services for the DBHDD Jail Restoration Center located in Eastman, GA. This procurement opportunity (ID: 67446333f35e25ef3200807c) is being conducted pursuant to the State Purchasing Act and specifically targets food service providers for a facility dedicated to providing competency restoration services for inmates deemed Incompetent to Stand Trial. The center's primary objective is to enable defendants to regain competency in the shortest possible time to assist in their own defense. The solicitation was posted on November 20, 2024, with proposals due by December 20, 2024, covering food service requirements for the Central State Hospital's Forensic Services division. While specific evaluation criteria are not detailed in the provided documentation, the procurement appears to require vendors with significant experience in institutional food service delivery, particularly in behavioral health and correctional settings.

The contract opportunity does not explicitly specify set-aside designations or limitations on respondent types. The procurement is associated with Douglas County (FIPS Code: 13097) and targets food service providers for a specialized behavioral health facility. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are mentioned in the documentation, and there are no explicit details about existing infrastructure or technology integration requirements. The solicitation does not provide specific award values or precise budget ranges for the food services contract. The DBHDD Jail Restoration Center's mission suggests a need for a vendor capable of delivering high-quality, nutritionally balanced meals in a complex correctional and behavioral health environment. Potential respondents should be prepared to demonstrate expertise in institutional food service, understanding of dietary requirements in a forensic healthcare setting, and ability to meet the specialized needs of individuals undergoing competency restoration treatment.
