About this opportunity

The City of Tampa Water Production Department is requesting bids for replacement of a Strobic Air exhaust system and double wall plenum at the David L. Tippin Water Treatment Facility Lab, with sealed bids due September 14, 2026 at 3:00 p.m., and mandatory attendance at a pre-bid meeting and site inspection on August 18, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. This is a sheltered-market solicitation for City of Tampa-certified Small Local Business Enterprises (SLBEs), with a 5% bid discount (up to a maximum of $10,000) applied for evaluation purposes only.

The scope includes removal and proper disposal of the existing dual fan fume exhaust system and installation of a new Strobic Air Tri-Stack two-fan fume exhaust system with Phenicon HS coating 316 stainless steel double wall plenum and NEMA-4X disconnect switch. Work includes crane and rigging services, reuse of existing starters, integration with existing curb, controls, and electrical systems, and startup and testing. The City of Tampa Water Department will handle cleaning and neutralization of existing chemicals prior to work commencing. The awardee must provide a one-year warranty on parts and labor; the manufacturer provides two to seven year warranty on fan and motor. Work must be completed during normal business hours.

The estimated contract value is $200,000. The award period is one year from the effective date, with options to renew for three additional one-year periods by mutual written agreement, plus three additional thirty-day unilateral renewal periods at the City's discretion. The lowest responsive, responsible bidder will be selected. All bids must be submitted electronically through the OpenGov eProcurement Portal and must be firm, including all shipping costs, freight on board to Tampa, taxes, royalties, and patent indemnification. Successful bidder must provide commercial general liability insurance ($1 million per occurrence / $2 million general aggregate), automobile liability insurance ($500,000 combined single limit), and worker's compensation insurance as required by Florida law. The City reserves the right to award by division or aggregate total, in whole or in part, and to cancel or reject any bids. Florida business registration must be verified within ten days of notice of award.
