About this opportunity

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is requesting documented quotations for furnishing and delivery of Class 6 and Class 5 aggregate road base materials to Lee Field in Cameo, Colorado under DQ1 2027-0038, with bids due August 25, 2026 at 3 p.m. MT. A 5% preference applies to Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses registered with the U.S. Small Business Administration's Center for Veteran Enterprise, and resident bidders may receive a preference against nonresident bidders.

The scope requires furnishing and delivery of Class 6 road base (material containing no rock greater than 0.75 inches) in quantities of 2,500–3,500 tons and Class 5 road base (rock 0.75 to 1.5 inches) in quantities of 1,500–2,500 tons. All aggregates must be crushed stone, crushed slag, crushed gravel, or natural gravel conforming to AASHTO M 147 specifications and CDOT Section 703.03 grading requirements, with liquid limit not exceeding 30 and plasticity index not to exceed 6 per AASHTO T 89 and T 90. Bidders must submit certified gradation and standard Proctor test results. Delivery to 3934 I 9/10 Road, Palisade, Colorado 81526 must occur within two weeks of purchase order issuance at a continuous rate of 600–1,000 tons per day. CPW reserves the right to inspect material at the bidder's quarry no less than five working days after bid closure. All trucking and delivery services must be vendor-provided; the State will not reimburse shipping costs. Automobile liability insurance with a minimum limit of $1 million per accident combined single limit is required unless using a third-party delivery service.

Bids must include unit pricing per ton for each commodity class. All costs—delivery, trade-in value, and discounts—must be incorporated into the final bid price; sales taxes must be excluded. Award will be made to the lowest qualified bidder. CPW expects to issue a Notice of Intent to Award on August 26, 2026. Payment follows inspection and acceptance by the CPW project manager and occurs within 45 days of invoice receipt via ACH/EFT. Bids are submitted via the Colorado Vendor Self-Service website or email to dnr_cpw_bids@state.co.us.
