About this opportunity

The City of Reno Public Works Department is requesting sealed bids on the Crooked Mile Pathway Rehabilitation project (Contract D100197) via PlanetBids, with proposals due June 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. local time and a virtual bid opening at 2:15 p.m. via Microsoft Teams. This is a federally funded public works project subject to Davis-Bacon wage requirements and Build America, Buy America (BABA) compliance mandates — key regulatory gates for bidders.

The scope encompasses removal and replacement of approximately 1,987.70 linear feet of asphalt concrete pathway, concrete curb and gutter (437 linear feet), sidewalk, pedestrian ramps with detectable warning tiles meeting ADA and PROWAG standards, a pedestrian wooden footbridge with concrete abutments and four benches, a drinking fountain with bottle filler, bollard, and miscellaneous appurtenances including traffic control devices. The work includes utility coordination with gas, water, sanitary sewer, storm drain, electric, telephone, cable, and fiber optic systems; tree root mitigation by certified arborist; and procurement of all necessary permits including grading, dust control, and SWPPP permits. Pavement specifications call for 3 inches of Type 3 plantmix bituminous (PG 64-28NV) over 6 inches of Type 2 aggregate base; concrete work must meet 4000 PSI minimum compressive strength. The contract period is twenty-five work days, including up to three weather days.

Bidders must hold a valid Nevada State Contractor's License at bid submission and a City of Reno Business License prior to award. Only vendors registered on the prospective bidders list may submit bids. A 5% bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check is required with the proposal. Within two hours of bid opening, the three lowest bidders must submit a 1% subcontractor list. Performance and Labor and Materials bonds, each equal to 100% of contract amount, and Commercial General Liability insurance with minimum limits of $2 million per occurrence and $4 million aggregate are required. Prevailing wage rates established by Nevada's Labor Commissioner apply, with penalties of $20–$50 per day per worker for non-compliance. Award is expected within ninety calendar days of bid opening.
