About this opportunity

Sacramento County is soliciting quotes for an annual contract to supply original spare parts for Fassi, IMT, and Venturo cranes through Request for Quote RFQ-0459. The procurement specifically requires new and unused crane parts to be purchased on an as-needed basis, with the county reserving the right to extend the contract for four additional one-year terms after the initial 12-month period. Vendors must submit electronic responses through the county's procurement portal by January 14, 2025, at 3:00 pm, with questions accepted until January 3, 2025. The solicitation covers parts pricing through a percentage discount structure off manufacturer's list price, with F.O.B. Destination shipping terms and freight prepaid. Evaluation criteria will likely include pricing, vendor responsiveness, and compliance with technical specifications for crane parts from the specified manufacturers. Potential bidders should be prepared to demonstrate their ability to consistently supply high-quality, original crane parts for these specific manufacturers.

The procurement includes a Procurement Opportunities Program that provides preferences for local and micro businesses, offering a 2% price preference for State Certified Micro-Business enterprises and a 5% preference for local businesses meeting specific criteria. While no incumbent vendors are explicitly mentioned, the solicitation suggests the county is seeking a reliable, long-term supplier of crane parts capable of supporting ongoing maintenance needs. The contract appears designed to accommodate Sacramento County's equipment maintenance requirements, with potential applicability to San Francisco City as well, given the multiple jurisdictions listed. While specific budget ranges are not detailed, the as-needed purchasing model implies a flexible procurement approach that will allow the county to procure parts as required. Vendors should be prepared to provide comprehensive documentation of their parts sourcing, quality control processes, and ability to meet the county's environmental purchasing policy, which emphasizes the use of recycled and environmentally preferable products whenever practical.
