About this opportunity
The City of Okeechobee is seeking construction services for a comprehensive City Hall resiliency hardening improvements project, with proposals due by August 15, 2025. The procurement involves extensive renovation and repair work to enhance the facility's structural integrity and resilience, including window and door replacements with insulated and impact-rated units, exterior stucco wall restoration, concrete column sealing, and comprehensive exterior surface treatments. Specific deliverables include replacing roofing tile systems, installing slip-resistant concrete coatings on porch areas, updating exterior electrical conduit and wiring covers, removing window shutter support brackets, replacing vent wall louvers, and constructing new concrete walkways, ramps, and handrails. The project requires a contractor working under the general supervision of the City Administrator who can execute detailed renovation specifications with precision and adherence to municipal standards. Contractors must demonstrate capabilities in comprehensive building restoration, structural improvement, and resilience enhancement for municipal facilities.
While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are explicitly mentioned in the procurement documentation, the project appears to be open to qualified construction firms with demonstrated experience in municipal building renovation. The contract appears to be located within Florida's Nassau County and Orlando City jurisdictions, potentially offering local contractors a competitive opportunity. Although no specific budget range is provided, the extensive scope of work suggests a substantial investment in infrastructure improvement and resilience hardening. The project's comprehensive nature, involving multiple construction disciplines and system upgrades, indicates a potentially significant contract value. Interested contractors should carefully review the complete project specifications and be prepared to demonstrate technical expertise in municipal building restoration, impact-resistant construction techniques, and compliance with local building codes and resilience standards.
