About this opportunity

Granite School District is soliciting bids from licensed General Electrical Contractors (E200) to install a new fire alarm and carbon monoxide detection system at Churchill Junior High School (3450 East Oakview Drive, Millcreek, Utah), with bids due June 25, 2026 and attendance at a mandatory pre-bid meeting on June 17, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. Mountain Time at GSD Offices, 2500 South State Street, Salt Lake City. Award recommendation will be presented to the GSD Board on July 7, 2026, with final award contingent on board approval.

The scope requires removal of existing fire alarm infrastructure and installation of a complete system including Gamewell-FCI E3-BB-BB control panel with SBB-D4 NAC transponder and remote annunciator, photoelectric and heat detectors, combination smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, manual pull stations, horn/strobe notification devices, duct detectors with sampling tubes, integration of fire sprinkler flow and tamper switches, and Class A loop wiring with separate in and out conduits. The system must obtain State Fire Marshal's Office approval, be tested, and commissioned. All work must comply with NFPA 70 electrical standards, ASTM firestopping specifications, and UL fire safety standards. The contractor must maintain a full-time Site Superintendent on site and work primarily after school hours (3:30 p.m.–end on weekdays, 1:30 p.m.–end on Fridays) beginning August 12, 2026, to avoid classroom disruption. The contractor is responsible for obtaining Fire Alarm Plan Review approval from the State Fire Marshal's Office, with GSD listed for direct invoicing. GSD will abate hazardous materials; the contractor must dispose of all waste and furnish its own dumpster.

Bidders must submit a Bid Bond for bids of $50,000 or greater, complete the GSD Bid Form, and provide a Project Experience List documenting at least five comparable completed projects with owner contact information, scope, and costs. Questions are due June 19, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Mountain Time. Bids remain firm for 60 days from the due date. Award will go to the lowest cost responsive and responsible vendor. Contractors must maintain workers' compensation insurance ($1 million per occurrence) and commercial general liability coverage ($1 million combined single limit), register with E-Verify, and comply with Utah Procurement Code and GSD policies.
