About this opportunity
The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is seeking to procure compact and midsize refrigerators for its residence halls through Request for Bid (RFB) SP-17-123. The procurement involves purchasing 500 compact refrigerators and 25 midsize refrigerators for North Scott Hall and Fletcher Hall. Compact refrigerators must meet specific dimensional requirements of 43.4" H x 19" W x 20" D with 4.3 cubic feet capacity, including features such as manual defrost, separate freezer sections, reversible doors, and Energy Star compliance. Midsize units must measure 60" H x 24" W x 25" D with 9.9 cubic feet capacity and similar operational characteristics. The bid requires two separate delivery dates: 250 compact refrigerators to North Scott Hall by July 14, 2017, and 250 compact plus 25 midsize refrigerators to Fletcher Hall by July 24, 2017. Key deadlines include written inquiries due by May 10, 2017, and sealed bids due May 15, 2017, at 2:00 PM. The award will be made to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder meeting all specifications, with bidders required to provide manufacturer and model numbers.
Minority business enterprises (MBE) certified by the Wisconsin Department of Commerce may receive a weighted preference factor of up to 5 percent. The successful bidder must be an authorized distributor with service and repair capabilities, able to provide replacement parts within 2-3 days. Warranty requirements include a minimum one-year product warranty and five-year compressor warranty. Bidders proposing alternate products must provide detailed specifications and be prepared for sample demonstrations to verify equivalency. The contract is governed by Wisconsin Statutes and Department of Administration standard terms and conditions, with pricing expected to remain firm throughout the contract period. Any subsequent price increases will require written justification 90 days before the contract period ends. While a specific award value is not explicitly stated, the procurement involves supplying 525 refrigerators across two separate deliveries, suggesting a potentially significant contract value for the selected vendor.
