About this opportunity
The Nevada Department of Education (NDE) is issuing a formal Request for Proposals (RFP) for a College and Career Readiness High School Assessment to be administered to all 11th grade students statewide. The selected vendor must provide a comprehensive, valid, and reliable assessment aligned to Nevada Academic Content Standards, with the ability to deliver the assessment with appropriate supports and accommodations. Key objectives include reducing the total number of assessments given to high school students, providing consistent data to compare student progress year-over-year, and delivering data to support instructional decisions during students' 12th grade year. The RFP outlines detailed requirements for project management, data reporting, and professional development for Nevada educators. Proposals are due by July 13, 2023, and the anticipated notice of award is scheduled for September 1, 2023, subject to approval by the Nevada State Board of Education and Board of Examiners.
The RFP includes a 5% preference for Nevada-based businesses and an inverse preference for vendors with a principal place of business in a state that applies an in-state preference not afforded to Nevada-based vendors. While the RFP does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, it does require vendors to provide detailed financial information, business references, and information on any subcontractors. The State estimates a total student population of approximately 37,000 for the assessment and will consider proposals with per-student pricing for each fiscal year, as well as any additional support costs. The initial contract term is 4 years, with an option to extend for 2 additional years.
