The procurement specifically requires replacing the outer entry/exit doors on the north side of the building, including doors, windows, framing, threshold, and associated hardware, with Von Duprin rim exit devices or equivalent. The project further encompasses replacing door hardware on eight additional entry/exit doors within the building, with all work requiring coordination with the City's Information Technology Department to ensure security system integration. Bid submissions were due by 2:00 p.m. local time on August 20, 2019, at the City Clerk's Office, with a contract completion deadline of October 31, 2019. Prospective bidders were encouraged to conduct site visits by contacting Chad Courtier, Senior Building Maintenance Supervisor, at 608-825-0763. Bidders must submit bid security equal to ten percent of their bid amount and be prepared to execute performance and payment bonds equal to 100 percent of the bid amount within ten days of award.
The solicitation does not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent types. Contractors must maintain specific insurance coverage, including Workers' Compensation, Commercial General Liability ($1 million per occurrence), Automobile Liability ($1 million per occurrence), and Umbrella Liability ($5 million per occurrence). The project budget is established at $47,000, with liquidated damages of $500 per day assessed for delays beyond the October 31, 2019 completion date. All contractors must comply with Federal and State OSHA requirements and Wisconsin Prevailing Wage Laws. The successful bidder will be responsible for procuring all parts and materials, disposing of waste materials and existing equipment, and ensuring building security during non-business hours. The City of Sun Prairie reserves the right to reject any or all bids and may hold bids for up to sixty days from the bid opening prior to contract award.
