About this opportunity
The City of Woodland Park, Colorado, is seeking a qualified contractor for the Centre Camino Overlay Project, a road infrastructure improvement initiative located in Weld County. The primary procurement involves a 2-inch asphalt overlay covering approximately 47,472 square feet between Vaquero Senda and County Road intersections, with an optional add-alternate for a 1.5-inch cold mill of the existing pavement surface. Key project objectives include restoring surface integrity, enhancing ride quality, and prolonging pavement life, with all work to be completed in accordance with City of Woodland Park Engineering Specifications and 2025 CDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. The project is scheduled for completion by September 29th, 2025, with an estimated duration of 5-7 working days. Potential bidders must submit their proposals by July 18th, 2025, and will be required to provide a bid bond set at 5% of their total bid proposal. Evaluation criteria will likely include compliance with technical specifications, project understanding, proposed timeline, and overall cost-effectiveness. Contractors must demonstrate capability in road overlay and milling operations, with comprehensive insurance coverage and ability to meet local regulatory requirements.
There are no specific set-aside designations or explicit restrictions on respondent types mentioned in the procurement documents. However, the bid documents indicate a local preference policy and requirements for worker authorization, with an expectation that at least 80% of labor will be from Colorado workers unless specifically waived by the City Council. While no incumbent vendors are identified, contractors must possess a valid City of Woodland Park Business License, which costs $50 annually. The project requires comprehensive insurance, including $1,000,000 in commercial general liability coverage, and mandates a performance bond for the full contract price. Though an exact budget range is not specified, the project involves a substantial infrastructure improvement covering nearly 47,472 square feet of roadway. Contractors will be subject to liquidated damages of $250 per day for project delays and must provide a two-year warranty on all completed work. Financial management includes a 5% retainage held on monthly progress payments, with final payment contingent upon successful project completion and acceptance by the city's engineering representatives.
