About this opportunity
The Village of Oxford, Michigan, is seeking sealed bids for the Centennial Park gazebo renovation project, located in downtown Oxford within Calhoun County. The procurement is divided into two distinct phases: Phase One involves comprehensive gazebo renovation and repair, including replacement of damaged railings, cupola repair, electrical system updates, surface cleaning, and painting. Phase Two focuses on constructing an ADA-compliant access ramp that seamlessly integrates with the existing landscape and structure. Bidders may submit proposals for either one or both phases, with key deliverables including itemized cost estimates, project timelines, construction schedules, and proof of appropriate licensing, bonding, and insurance. The bid submission deadline is August 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with an optional site walkthrough available for interested contractors. Evaluation criteria will include best value, contractor qualifications, and availability, with the Village reserving the right to award contracts separately or jointly. All bid-related questions should be directed to Joe Latozas at Designhaus Architecture via email, and bid documents will be posted on BidNet Direct.
The procurement does not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. While no incumbent vendors are mentioned, the project requires contractors with expertise in historic structure restoration, electrical systems, and ADA-compliant ramp construction. The architectural plans, prepared by DesignHaus Architecture, indicate compliance with 2021 Michigan Rehab Code and demonstrate a comprehensive approach to preserving the existing gazebo's architectural integrity. Though a specific budget range is not explicitly stated, the detailed bid form suggests the project will involve significant investment across multiple construction categories, including general conditions, demolition, earthwork, site work, concrete, masonry, metals, wood/plastics/composites, finishes, specialties, and electrical work. The construction is anticipated to commence in the fall of 2025, with the project aimed at enhancing the community space in Centennial Park while ensuring accessibility and structural preservation.
