About this opportunity
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is conducting an electronic Request for Quotes (eRFQ) to establish a term contract for Cationic Asphalt Emulsions and Binders. These products are regulated by GDOT's Office of Materials and are listed on Qualified Products Lists 65 and 7. Over the past five years, GDOT has spent nearly $1 million on these commodities for use in construction and maintenance projects. The contract will be awarded to one or more qualified suppliers who can provide a variety of cationic asphalt emulsion and binder products, including slurry seal, micro surfacing, precoating, scrub seal, rejuvenation seal, surface treatment, and tack coat. Pricing is required for delivery to GDOT drop tanks, delivery and pumping to existing tanks, and GDOT pickup from the supplier. The solicitation closes on January 24, 2024, and GDOT intends to award a contract with an estimated value of $200,000.
The contract will be an open agency contract, meaning GDOT may identify primary and secondary awardees. The solicitation does not appear to have any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. However, the successful offeror must be on GDOT's Qualified Products Lists for the required materials. The Notice of Intent to Award indicates that Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions, Inc. is the apparent successful offeror, but there were other unsuccessful offerors whose details are not provided.
