About this opportunity
The City of Austin, Texas, through its Central Procurement office in the Financial Services Department, is soliciting quotes under Invitation for Quotation IFQ 1100 BAS1107 for cable accessories, with quotes due November 5, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Addendum 1 extended the original November 2, 2026 deadline. The solicitation uses a tiered notice process: certified HUBs and M/WBE vendors receive initial notice, and only if adequate quotes are not received from them does the solicitation post online to all vendors registered for the applicable commodity code. This is a notice sequence, not a set-aside.
The scope is one line item: a clamp hot tap (Stock No. 19312) for 795AA to 4/0-#6 copper/aluminum applications, with an estimated 600 units. The clamp has a 6061-T6 extruded aluminum body, a 6262-T9 extruded aluminum concave pressure pad, and a 303 stainless steel screw, pre-filled with oxide-inhibiting compound and qualified under QPL EL-1573. The bid sheet lists Marvair among approved manufacturers, and Addendum 1 adds the HTC-795G and HLC-795HP from Alcon Inc. Vendors must identify the manufacturer and part number they offer.
Delivery goes to the Austin Energy-Cameron Warehouse at 14910 Cameron Road, Pflugerville, Texas 78660, FOB Destination, with handling and freight included in item pricing. The City does not guarantee the estimated quantities. Quotes must exclude tax, as the City is exempt from federal excise and state sales tax.
Award goes to the lowest responsive offer meeting any stated minimum qualifications. The contractor must carry Workers' Compensation ($100,000/$500,000/$100,000 limits), Commercial General Liability ($500,000 per occurrence), and Business Automobile Liability ($500,000 combined single limit). Workers' compensation and auto requirements are waived if a common carrier is used. Vendors must certify non-debarment, non-discrimination and non-retaliation compliance, wage theft ordinance compliance, and that they do not engage in LGBTQ+ conversion therapy, and must complete City of Austin Wage Theft Training within thirty days of award. Payment is due within thirty days of properly documented invoices, subject to the City's discretion on payment discounts. Texas law governs, with Travis County courts holding jurisdiction.
Quotes go by email to buyer Bailie Shotwell at Bailie.Shotwell@AustinTexas.gov. Vendors must sign and return one copy of Addendum 1 with their response, as failure to do so is potentially grounds for rejection.
