About this opportunity

The state of Idaho is seeking procurement for a Beechcraft King Air Aircraft, specifically focusing on one and two way snowplows, as detailed in contract opportunity ID 6839b953a5d86620a80e6c12. The solicitation was posted on May 29, 2025, with proposals due by June 3, 2025, indicating a compressed response timeline for potential vendors. While the contract opportunity description mentions snowplows, the specific procurement appears to involve an aircraft, suggesting potential equipment upgrades or fleet expansion for state transportation or maintenance operations. The procurement seems targeted at state-level agencies requiring specialized winter maintenance equipment or aviation assets. Interested vendors will need to carefully review the full solicitation documents to understand precise technical specifications, submission requirements, and evaluation criteria.

Based on the available information, no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on vendor participation are immediately evident. The contract does not explicitly indicate preferences for disadvantaged business enterprises or small business participation. Without additional context, potential award values or budget ranges cannot be definitively stated. The contract opportunity appears to be open to qualified vendors capable of providing the specified Beechcraft King Air Aircraft and associated snowplow equipment. Potential respondents should ensure they meet all technical qualifications and can demonstrate capability to fulfill the state of Idaho's specific equipment requirements. Further detailed review of the complete solicitation documentation would provide more comprehensive insights into vendor qualifications, integration expectations, and potential contract scope.

Opportunity text

The Idaho Transportation Department has requested a brand name exemption for the purchase of Beechcraft King Air Aircraft. If approved, a brand name exemption allows an agency to specify one brand name only in a procurement and to eliminate bids for any alternate or substitute property. Brand name exemptions are at the discretion of the DOP Administrator. In the interest of transparency, DOP is offering suppliers the opportunity to review this requested exemption and provide relevant information. The decision remains discretionary, and suppliers have no right to appeal the Administrator's decision. Suppliers are invited to provide information that may help the DOP Administrator make a decision regarding this brand name exemption. Please review the Agency's request, attached in the Buyer Attachment section of IPRO. You are invited to provide information that may help support or contradict the claim that the named brand is the only brand that can meet the agency's business needs. Submit your information by attaching it in the Supplier Attachments section of IPRO and submitting your response or emailing purchasing@adm.idaho.gov. To be considered by the Administrator, all information must be submitted prior to the closing date and time listed in IPRO.
