About this opportunity

The University of Georgia's Office of Research, located in Clarke County, Georgia, is issuing an electronic Request for Proposals (eRFP) to procure a comprehensive Biosafety Protocol Management Software system pursuant to the State Purchasing Act (O.C.G.A. 50-5-50 et seq.). The procurement seeks a qualified supplier capable of providing an integrated software solution that manages the complete lifecycle of biosafety research protocols, including submission, review, monitoring, and reporting functionalities. Key objectives include enhancing the management and oversight of biosafety research activities while ensuring institutional compliance with applicable regulations and standards. The software must deliver streamlined workflows that facilitate protocol submission and review processes, ongoing monitoring capabilities, and comprehensive reporting features to support the University's research operations. The eRFP was posted on April 6, 2026, with a proposal due date of May 6, 2026. The University intends to make a single contract award to the highest-scoring responsive and responsible supplier, with a preferred award structure consisting of an initial one-year Agency Contract followed by up to four annual renewal options. The evaluation criteria and specific technical qualifications required from bidders are outlined in the full RFP documentation.

The RFP documentation does not specify set-aside designations, minority or disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) restrictions, or preferences that would limit bidder eligibility based on organizational classification. No incumbent vendor information or existing contracted software systems requiring integration are mentioned in the procurement notice. Similarly, the estimated contract value or budget range for this procurement has not been disclosed in the available summary documentation. Interested vendors should review the complete eRFP materials, which would typically be available through the Georgia procurement system, to obtain detailed technical specifications, evaluation weightings, terms and conditions, and any additional requirements necessary to prepare a competitive proposal.
