About this opportunity

The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids for LTO4 tapes with state standard labels and LTO2 non-labeled tapes, with bids due March 1, 2011.

Bidders must comply with Maine's standardized barcode label format and specifications as documented in the sample label barcode specification provided. LTO4 tapes must be supplied with state standard labels; LTO2 tapes must be non-labeled. The state reserves the right to reject any or all bids, award items individually or as a group, and increase or decrease ordered quantities by up to 10 percent.

Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering best value, with evaluation considering quality, conformity with specifications, delivery dates, and ultimate cost. Bidders must submit separate unit prices for each item and provide definite delivery terms. Cash discounts of 20 days or more will be considered in determining the low bidder. All transportation and freight charges must be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Bids must be submitted electronically through the state's secure system; late submissions will be rejected. The state is exempt from federal and Maine state sales and use taxes, and bidders should quote prices excluding these taxes. Contracts may not be assigned, sublet, or transferred without written consent from the Director of Purchases. In the event of contractor default, the state reserves the right to procure materials from alternative sources and charge excess costs to the contractor, except for strikes, fires, Acts of God, or causes beyond reasonable control.
