About this opportunity
The City of Perry is seeking competitive sealed bids for the Bear Branch Pump Station Upgrades Phase II project (Bid Number 2025-32), located in Henry County, Georgia. The procurement involves comprehensive pump station improvements requiring a qualified utility contractor with a valid Georgia Utility Contractor License. Specific project deliverables include cleaning and relining two existing wet wells, removing the current packaged pump station, and installing a new suction lift pump station with associated electrical, instrumentation, and control improvements. Key project objectives encompass installing a generator for backup power, implementing a new 4-inch water service line with a water meter and backflow prevention device, and connecting discharge piping to the existing force main. The bid submission deadline is May 14, 2025, at 10:15 a.m. at Perry City Hall, with a total project timeline of 120 consecutive calendar days. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for April 30, 2025, at Perry City Hall. Bidders must submit a bid bond or certified cashier's check for 10% of the base bid and provide E-Verify documentation.
The procurement does not explicitly indicate specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The project will be managed by GWES, LLC, located in Perry, Georgia, and will require coordination with the City of Perry and other utility owners within the project corridor. Bidders must ensure their surety companies are licensed in Georgia, listed in the U.S. Treasury Circular 570, with an "A" minimum rating and financial strength at least five times the contract price. While a specific contract value is not disclosed, the comprehensive nature of the infrastructure upgrades suggests a substantial municipal infrastructure investment. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities, providing flexibility in the procurement process. Contractors will need to demonstrate technical capability, financial stability, and compliance with local regulatory requirements to be considered for this pump station upgrade project.
