About this opportunity

Putnam County Board of Commissioners in Georgia is soliciting bids for the Bethel Church Road Waterline Relocation project, with the bid due date revised to May 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. via Addendum #2 (issued April 27, 2022).

The scope encompasses relocation of approximately 2,100 linear feet of 12-inch water main; 100 linear feet of 12-inch jack and bore crossing under US Highway 441; steel casing installation; installation of fire hydrants and gate valves; relocation of a 12-inch meter and vault; cutting, grout filling, and capping of existing water mains; connections to existing water mains; erosion and sediment control; and traffic control. The base bid contains 16 line items with unit prices (rock removal at $60.00 per cubic yard, for example) and a $20,000 supplemental work allowance. Addendum #1 introduced two alternate bid options: Alternate B specifies 12-inch ductile iron pipe instead of C-900 PVC; Alternate C addresses Highway 441 jack and bore crossing with open cut and jack and bore installation method options. The owner will select either the base bid or altered total bid with alternates fully selected or fully rejected.

Bid security equal to 5 percent of total bid price is required. The selected contractor must execute the agreement and bonds within 15 days of notice of award. Contract time for substantial completion is 120 calendar days from commencement. All costs for work necessary for a complete and operational system not separately listed must be included in line item prices with no additional compensation.

Addendum #2 requires coordination with E.R. Snell, the GDOT Project Index 0013615 contractor, who will be installing an asphalt batching plant within the project area. Contractors must contact E.R. Snell prior to construction and verify all work remains within existing or proposed utility easements and required GDOT right-of-way along SR24/US 441 and Technology Parkway.

Fortis Engineering was awarded the contract at $349,986.61.
