About this opportunity
The State of Utah Division of Forestry, Fire & State Lands is requesting bids on wildfire hazard reduction and wildlife habitat improvement via mechanical mastication on 34 acres of Department of Wildlife Resources land east of Parowan, Utah under IFB BD26-83, with bids due July 23, 2026.
The scope is mechanical removal and shredding of cut Pinyon and Juniper and standing Pinyon Pine and Juniper trees and saplings using a wheeled or tracked mechanical mulching/shredder (Bullhog). Work must be completed by October 31, 2026. The vendor must guarantee pricing through project completion.
No mandatory site visit is scheduled, but the issuing body strongly recommends that bidders inspect the site to assess general and local conditions affecting cost. Failure to inspect does not constitute grounds for claims after contract award.
The State of Utah Division of Purchasing anticipates awarding a single contract to the lowest cost responsive and responsible vendor. Evaluation criteria include responsiveness and responsibility; cost is the determinant factor. The procurement timeline runs from bid opening through October 31, 2026 project completion. No pre-bid meeting is scheduled, and no contract value is stated in the solicitation.
Note: The source includes an attached government file summary for a separate Mt. Olympus Improvement District sewer excavation contract (due July 28, 2026, completion October 31, 2026) that appears to be included in error and is unrelated to the Parowan Canyon mastication procurement.
