About this opportunity

The City of Orlando Fire Department (OFD) is seeking semi-annual preventative maintenance services for Bauer Compressors through a sole source procurement (Solicitation Number S25-0467) with Breathing Air Systems. The contract requires comprehensive maintenance of breathing air systems at two fire department locations, with services specifically aligned with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and Bauer manufacturer guidelines. Required services include annual air quality testing compliant with NFPA 1989: 5.2.1.1, filter and cartridge replacements, routine maintenance tasks such as O-ring inspections and oil changes, system inspections, and operational testing. The contractor must provide all necessary labor, tools, equipment, and materials to perform annual preventative maintenance, with detailed documentation and service reporting for each compressor unit. The solicitation was posted on June 23, 2025, with a response deadline of June 30, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. (ET), and will remain active for seven calendar days. Potential alternative suppliers are invited to submit product information, qualifications, and capabilities to the Purchasing Agent, Tracie Brown, via email (tracie.brown@orlando.gov).

The procurement appears to be a sole source opportunity with Breathing Air Systems designated as the primary vendor, though the solicitation leaves room for alternative suppliers to demonstrate equivalent capabilities. While no specific set-aside designations or enterprise restrictions are mentioned, the procurement is limited to vendors capable of meeting highly specialized technical maintenance requirements for breathing air systems. The sole source letter from Bauer Compressors Inc. confirms Breathing Air Systems as their authorized sales and service distributor, valid until March 19, 2026, which strengthens their position as the preferred vendor. The solicitation covers maintenance services for two specific Orlando Fire Department locations: Station #1 at 78 West Central Blvd and Station 15 at 10199 South Narcoossee Rd. No specific budget range or award value is explicitly stated in the provided documentation. The technical complexity of the maintenance requirements, involving specialized equipment and strict compliance with NFPA standards, suggests this is a high-precision service contract critical to firefighter safety equipment maintenance.
