About this opportunity

Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES and its component school districts are conducting a cooperative bid for Basic School Kits through a procurement authorized under General Municipal Law Section 119-o. The solicitation seeks vendors to provide individually packaged school supply kits for kindergarten through fifth grade, with each grade level requiring specific educational materials such as scissors, crayons, glue sticks, markers, pencils, folders, and notebooks. Vendors must submit pricing for 100% of the items in each grade-level kit, with a requirement to provide 101 kits per grade level and meet precise brand and quantity specifications. The bid will be opened on September 9, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES Business Office in Newark, NY, with the contract effective from award through June 30, 2026, and potential for two additional one-year extensions. Award criteria will be based on the lowest responsible and responsive bidder through a direct comparison of kit prices, with BOCES reserving the right to accept alternative items of equal quality. Participating school districts include Clyde-Savannah, North Rose-Wolcott, Red Creek, Seneca Falls, and Waterloo Central School Districts, along with various Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES locations.

The procurement allows for participation by other BOCES, school districts, municipalities, and authorized political subdivisions within New York State, providing a broad cooperative purchasing opportunity. While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are mentioned, vendors must submit two copies of current catalogs or website information and may be required to provide samples for verification. The procurement includes a minimum order quantity of $250 and specifies that delivery costs are FOB destination with no additional surcharges accepted. Vendors must complete a proposal form and submit various attachments, including a W-9. Although specific budget ranges are not detailed, the procurement covers multiple school districts and involves 101 kits per grade level across kindergarten through fifth grade, suggesting a potentially significant total contract value. Initial contact for the procurement should be made through the Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES Purchasing Department, with interested vendors required to meet the comprehensive specifications outlined in the bid documents.
