About this opportunity

Broward County Parks and Recreation is requesting bids for ballfield clay lip repair and sodding at Brian Piccolo Park, with bids due June 12, 2026. This is a fixed-price contract with all furnishing and installation costs included in unit pricing. Responses must be submitted electronically through BPRO (Broward Procurement and Records Online); the County will not accept submissions by other means.

The scope includes excavating clay lip build-up on the infield/outfield arc of two ballfields, removing sod approximately 16 feet from the arc, and installing approximately 4,882 square feet of new Bermuda grass sod. The vendor must supply all equipment, labor, and materials for clay lip repair and sod removal; Broward County will supply the clay for repair. Work is divided into phases: vendor excavation and sod removal (1–2 working days), County laser grading (1–2 working days), and vendor sod installation within 5 working days of grading (1–2 working days). All work must be completed within 30 calendar days of purchase order receipt. The vendor must schedule a site walkthrough with the Project Manager prior to commencing work and demonstrate experience in ballfield sodding through references provided within three business days of request. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., excluding county holidays, at 9501 Sheridan Street, Cooper City, Florida 33024. Rogers Hayes is the Project Manager. Pricing is on a unit basis with FOB Destination terms.

Vendors must obtain General Liability coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, Auto Liability of $1,000,000 (if applicable), Excess Liability/Umbrella insurance, Workers' Compensation at statutory limits, and Employers' Liability of $500,000 per accident, with Broward County named as additional insured. A completed Vendor Questionnaire certifying non-debarment, authorization from manufacturers, non-collusion, and disclosure of any conflicts must accompany the bid or be submitted within three business days of request; failure to submit renders the vendor nonresponsive. The bid tabulation shows AGROTURF Premium Sod Inc was selected as the apparent low bidder at $15,000.00 total against a competing bid of $15,100.00 from Southern Turfgrass Services.
