About this opportunity
Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is issuing a competitive sealed bid solicitation for Group 31 Automotive Batteries. The contract will be effective from approximately April 30, 2024 through April 29, 2025, with the option to renew up to four additional one-year periods. Bids will be received digitally until 9:00 AM on February 27, 2024 through the Bonfire Interactive online portal. The annual usage across all GCPS fleet maintenance shops is approximately 2,500 batteries, with orders placed on an as-needed basis. The successful supplier(s) must have a brick and mortar facility/storefront within Gwinnett County and meet specific product requirements, including minimum Cold Cranking Amps, Reserve Capacity, and warranty periods. Award will be made to the supplier(s) submitting the lowest responsive and responsible bid. GCPS reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive technicalities, and negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with the lowest responsive, responsible bidder(s).
The award packet indicates that the contract was awarded to Parts Authority LLC as the third lowest bidder, as the first two lowest bidders did not meet the minimum specifications outlined in the bid table. The total amount to be spent on this contract is $495,000.00, which represents an increase from the previous award amount of $168,000.00. The award packet also provides details on the supplier notifications, which include representation from African American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian American, Pacific Island/American, and Native American businesses, as well as non-minority businesses. The document also indicates that Tidewater Fleet Supply is a Gwinnett County firm.
