About this opportunity

This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by the Avery NCPA (North Carolina Procurement Alliance) consortium for the procurement and delivery of food, supplies, and produce products for federally-funded Child Nutrition programs operating in the Avery County School District. The contract is divided into three lots: Lot 1-Grocery, Lot 3-Supplies, and Lot 4-Produce. The awarded contract will serve as the first year of a potential five-year contract term, with four one-year renewal options subject to agreement between the vendor and school district. Interested distributors must submit bids by May 16, 2024, with a bid opening taking place at the McKimmon Center on the NC State University Campus. Detailed requirements include brand and grade labels, HACCP summaries, insurance evidence, criminal background checks, food recall policies, produce GAP certifications, and HUB certifications.

The IFB indicates a focus on utilizing Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) where possible. No incumbent vendor information or award values are provided, but the funding for the contract will come from federal Child Nutrition program sources. The contract is a new opportunity, and the school district is seeking competitive bids from qualified distributors to supply the requested products and services for their Child Nutrition programs.
