About this opportunity

The Dania Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is seeking proposals for the AT HOME DANIA BEACH RESIDENTIAL BEAUTIFICATION PROGRAM AND SAFE AT HOME PROGRAM through a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) process. The procurement targets a contractor to implement two distinct residential improvement programs: the Residential Beautification Program and the Safe At Home Program. The Residential Beautification Program will provide exterior improvements for 40 eligible homes, including pressure washing, minor repairs to facia boards and cracks, complete exterior painting, minor landscaping, and general beautification enhancements. The Safe At Home Program will focus on critical interior and exterior repairs and accessibility modifications to improve accessibility, reduce falls, increase independence, and facilitate aging-in-place for vulnerable populations. Proposals must be submitted via https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/daniabeachfl by Monday, November 4, 2024, at 10:00 am. The evaluation criteria will assess the strength of the overall proposal, experience with similar projects, innovative approaches, renovation and repair expertise, project completion capabilities, and pricing. The initial contract term will be twelve months, with the CRA retaining the option to award up to five additional one-year renewal periods.

The RFP does not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent types, but it encourages contractors with experience in residential revitalization, volunteer and sponsor recruitment, and home repairs. The CRA particularly values respondents who can bring together community partners, donors, and volunteers and leverage donated materials and labor. The total annual budget for the programs is $170,000, with $120,000 allocated for the Residential Beautification Program (covering 40 homes) and $50,000 for the Safe At Home Program (targeting 30 homes). The programs aim to eliminate slum and blighted conditions, improve neighborhood aesthetics, and enhance residents' well-being through targeted home improvements. While no incumbent vendors are mentioned, the RFP indicates a preference for contractors with demonstrated expertise in residential rehabilitation and community development. The procurement is specific to the Dania Beach CRA district in Broward County, Florida, as illustrated in the accompanying CRA map detailing the service zones and jurisdictional boundaries.
