About this opportunity

The City of South Salt Lake is seeking qualified arborist service providers through a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to establish a comprehensive tree services pool. The procurement aims to create a roster of professional arborists who can be retained on an as-needed basis for various tree management services, with the pool remaining active for five years. Specific services include pruning, tree health maintenance, risk assessments, pest and disease diagnostics, and tree removal, all adhering to professional standards such as ANSI 300 and ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) standards. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in performing Level 2 risk assessments, providing written recommendations, and implementing integrated pest management approaches. The solicitation requires detailed submissions demonstrating technical capabilities, with proposals due by September 5, 2025, at 3:00 pm MST, which can be submitted in person at South Salt Lake City Hall, via email to aandrus@sslc.gov, or through the Utah Public Procurement Portal (UP3).

The RFQ does not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged business enterprises. No incumbent vendors are mentioned in the documentation, and there are no apparent constraints on the types of organizations that can submit qualifications. While the exact budget range is not disclosed, the procurement suggests this will be a recurring, on-demand service pool with individual project scopes likely varying in complexity and value. The city intends to select one or more qualified companies to form a flexible service pool, enabling them to quickly engage arborist services for small projects, safety assessments, and ongoing tree management needs. The five-year pool duration indicates the city's commitment to establishing a reliable, long-term relationship with qualified tree service professionals who can respond to the municipality's evolving arboricultural requirements.
