The Illinois Department of Corrections, Dixon Correctional Center, is requesting quotes for 12-year hydrostatic testing and repair of three Ansul fire suppression kitchen hood systems, with quotes due June 26, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. CST.
The scope covers three systems serving the North Production Hood (15-gallon), Culinary Hood (6-gallon), and South Production Hood (3-gallon). All three systems are overdue for their required 12-year hydrostatic testing, with the last completed in 2014. Work includes removal and hydrostatic testing of all tanks with reinstallation, replacement of cartridges, O-rings, and burst discs, replacement of eighteen aluminum link holders with stainless steel UL-listed components, replacement of four clogged duct nozzles, reconfiguration of griddle nozzle drops for proper appliance coverage, installation of bursting disc union assemblies on manifolded tank sets, and complete system reassembly, testing, and commissioning. Upon completion, all systems must be verified to meet manufacturer specifications, UL 300 requirements, and applicable NFPA standards.
Work shall commence after July 1, 2026, and be performed Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. CST at the Dixon Correctional Center facility. The contract term runs from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. All parts are FOB destination with the vendor responsible for freight and delivery; the vendor is not reimbursed for travel or mileage.
The vendor must provide proof of appropriate training certifications and pass security background checks including drug screening prior to performing on-site services. General commercial liability insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence with $2,000,000 annual aggregate is required, along with auto liability and workers' compensation coverage as required by law. Subcontractors are permitted with prompt reporting of any changes to the State Purchasing Officer. This is not a small business set-aside. No incumbent vendor is identified. The contract is contingent on available appropriated funds and subject to termination for cause with thirty days' notice or termination for convenience without penalty.
